3D LIVER VIRTUAL
MODELING RECONSTRUCTION

Project description

This project aims to provide the clinician with a 3D digital twin of the liver and all its structures and lesions, based on Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) images, in an automated manner using artificial vision, machine learning techniques and artificial intelligence.

With the specific REMOVIRT software, the clinician will be able to use this reconstruction to specify the diagnosis of liver lesions, to plan and simulate surgeries, to improve the explanation of diseases and surgical techniques to the patient and their families.

Objetives

The principal objetive is to obtain high-precision three-dimensional virtual reconstruction of the liver from previous CT and MRI images in an automated way.

As additional objetives, are established:

  • development of computer applications for generating 3D models
  • planning and simulation of surgeries
  • volumetric calculations
  • improved communication with the patient
